Position-Specific Design

A glove is not one-size-fits-all; it is engineered for the unique demands of each position. Infielders’ gloves are typically smaller, with shallow, open pockets that allow for lightning-fast ball retrieval and transfer. Outfielders’ gloves are longer and deeper, featuring extended fingers to trap fly balls and line drives securely on the run. Catcher’s mitts are heavily padded with a distinct rounded pocket to withstand the velocity of pitches, while first base mitts are longer and more flexible to scoop throws from all angles. The pattern and webbing style—whether it’s an H-web, I-web, or trapeze—further tailor the glove to specific fielding needs.
